BFA Student Profile Series If there's anyone who's able to brighten your day in a Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood kind of way, it's Cynthia Lam. She's someone who's able to make you smile whether it's with a batch of cookies that she's baked, the fact that she has blankets on her list of things that make her happy, or maybe how she once wanted to be a world-renowned Play-Doh sculptor. Cynthia, anyone would be lucky to have a neighbor just like you. What has been your favorite BFA project so far? My favorite BFA project, for all of the out-of-the-box thinking it entailed, was the honeybee poster. I enjoyed the challenge of having to combine a variety of mediums into a single cohesive piece. It was neat to be able to die-cut the edges into a giant stamp! What is a memorable or favorite project of someone else in the class that isn't your own? Ali's Sausalito identity project was most memorable for me. I appreciated how sophisticated everything was in terms of the logo mark, color pa! lette, and the identity guide itself. If I was the mayor of Sausalito, I'd rock it all day! :] Favorite color: Mellow Yellow Favorite typeface: Caslon Favorite artists and/or designers: Jessica Hische is definitely a designer I admire immensely for her ability to be so detail-oriented and how she always strives to make work that is timeless. One of my favorite projects of hers is the Daily Drop Cap. Check it out: www.dailydropcap.com What would be your dream job? Where do you see yourself in 10 years
